WHY SHE'S GRATEFUL TO HER DOCTOR

Burruss welcomed her daughter, Blaze Tucker via surrogate last week. Along with the good news, the grateful reality star expressed her appreciation for her physician for making it possible.

Burruss’ decision to bring another child into the world and through a third party was aided by Dr. Jackie Walters. The “Married to Medicine” doctor knew of Burruss’ difficult second pregnancy and fielded surrogacy as her option for her third.

Burruss had selected surrogate, Shadina Blunt to carry the two female embryos left from her first IVF procedure. She was initially expecting twins but unfortunately, only one survived.

While carrying her second child, Ace Tucker who was conceived through IVF, Burruss revealed she “had a couple of scares.”

“I was a high risk and I did have bleeding a few times,” the 43-year-old revealed on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" according to People. After delivering Ace, Burruss discovered fibroids in her system that made it even more difficult for her to carry another child.

Knowing the risks, Walters, who was her IVF physician suggested the idea of surrogacy. At first, Burruss was nervous about the idea of having another woman carry her child, but Walters assured her the child was completely hers and right after she’s born, ties with the surrogate are over.

Soon after, Burruss had selected surrogate, Shadina Blunt to carry the two female embryos left from her first IVF procedure. She was initially expecting twins but unfortunately, only one survived.

HER MESSAGE OF THANKS

With the birth of Blaze, Burruss expressed her thanks to both Blunt and Walters.

“I just wanna say thank you sooooo much to @therealdrjackie & @shadinablunt for helping us bring our beautiful baby girl in the world,” she wrote to accompany a photo of her and husband, Todd Tucker with the two women at the hospital. She added,

“There are no words that can express our gratitude! @shadinablunt is normally a super private person so helping us in this journey has been different for her. Please send love & light to her & @therealdrjackie! They mean a lot to our family."
