Dog the Bounty Hunter has revealed he was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism after being hospitalized earlier this month.

In an exclusive clip from his appearance on The Dr. Oz show on Monday, Duane Chapman is getting candid regarding his recent health issues.

It has only been three months since Dog lost his beloved wife, Beth after her battle with cancer. Now the reality TV star has his own medical issues that could be life-threatening.

The 66-year-old admitted to Dr. Oz that he was suffering from a life-threatening health condition where one or more arteries has been blocked by blood.

“You’re a ticking time bomb. You’re not going to be here with the heart the way it is right now. Fear of death is normal. I’m surprised you don’t fear death when you’re chasing after convicts. But when you run away from the doctor, that means you have to do your own doctoring,” Dr. Oz states to the Dogs Most Wanted star in the preview clip.

Two weeks ago, Chapman was rushed to the hospital with chest pains. Now it is clear what was wrong. Reports initially indicated he suffered a heart attack, but those were inaccurate.

Based on his upcoming sit down with Dr. Oz, fans are beginning to think the Dog might have lost his will to live following Beth’s death.

“I said, ‘What would Beth do. What would she say to you? I don’t think she’d be happy with what you’re doing. You’re throwing away your life, you’re throwing away your ability to parent your kids. You have to man up.’ That’s what she would say,” Dr. Oz expressed to People magazine regarding his conversation with Chapman.

Thankfully Dog took to heart what the famous doctor was telling him. Chapman shared with the weekly magazine he is now on blood thinners is following a healthy diet and has made great strides to kick his smoking habit.

“Once this goes away, I am 100 percent. I’ve had fears. The blood clot is not a normal thing, but it happens a lot, but I’m going to be 100 percent. I’m encouraged by it,” Dog said.

The past few months have been rough for Dog the Bounty Hunter. Losing his wife Beth devastated him to the point he was ignoring his health.
