Boxing is a brutal sport and no single image embodies that more than the state of Tony Weeks' shirt after Badou Jack's fight with Marcus Browne.

It got so messy, Weeks, the referee for that bloody fight in 2019, was even seen washing his shirt in the public loos after in front of stunned fight fans.

On Sunday night, Jack is next in action on the undercard of the Jake Paul and Tommy Fury fight in Saudi Arabia for the WBC cruiserweight title.

But in 2019, Jack was still in the world title mix down at light heavyweight and he took on Browne for the WBA interim title in Las Vegas.

During the fight, the pair clashed heads in the seventh round and Jack subsequently sustained a horrific cut to the forehead, but continued to fight until the final bell where it was announced that he had lost by unanimous decision.

And while Jack was the one who suffered, it was Weeks who came out looking like he had been in a fight.

Covered in blood, the ring's third man decided to try and wash off the blood a public toilet in front of stunned onlookers who filmed him attempting to clean himself up.

Speaking to journalist Tris Dixon on the Boxing Life Stories podcast, Weeks said: “That was the worst cut that I ever seen, that I’ve been involved with.

"It was right down the middle of his head. The good thing about it, if you will, was that because it was in the middle of his head the blood was running down the sides of his nose and not getting in his eye but it was a gruesome cut.

"I tried to wash [the shirt] a little bit off after the fight but the blood is still there and I’ve still got it. Hopefully I can donate it here at the Hall of Fame."

Jack is now in Saudi Arabia where his last fight took place.

Back then, he was on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's loss to Oleksandr Usyk, with Jack beating Richard Rivera.

Now he's back in the Kingdom, this time in Riyadh where his title fight will be secondary to Paul and Fury's main event.
